ABOUT
Spanish by birth, Parisian by choice, I am above all a city-dweller. But the city as a source of mystery and wonder, below the clang and clutter. The streets of the city make up my ecosystem, and my imagination’s playground.
Moving through the city I’m attentive to those tiny special moments, or the spontaneous outbreak of street theater. Faces, objects, the feel of a place or a moment, all can suggest stories, feed one’s imagination. Responding to the city I try to be a good listener, as much as an observer.
In my work, I draw on a foundation of conceptual research. Ideas precede form, give it substance. The driving themes are melancholy and the effects of time. They are the keys to seeing something more in apparently simple scenes and to reading one’s own stories onto the urban canvas.
